We were offered a rate of *.00 through this website (Hotelguides.com) I called the hotel a week prior to our visit to confirm the reservations and they asked If we were a travel agent, we werenât so he said that we could NOT have this special rate but could at a cost of *.00 no where in the booking process did it say that you MUST be a travel agent to get this promotion. Blessing in disguise by the look of all the other terrible reviews given. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE.

We arrived for a three night stay to be greeted by a very warm and friendly doorman. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely suite. we found it extremely comfortable, especially returning after an exhausting day sight seeing. The rooms were clean, bed comfortable. The TV in the bedroom didn't work but the one in the living room did.The best thing about the place was the friendliness of the staff. They greeted us each day on our return, and they were quick to answer any questions plus helped us book our tour. The boutique feel of the hotel made it feel homey. Hotel centrally located- near Eaton Center shopping, subways, great restaurants. We found Toronni's on Adelaide Street especially good. We would certainly return.

  • Trying but not quite a four star...

This is not in my view a boutique hotel - it's a small hotel that has the feel of a stylized university residence (note the proximity to Ryerson University) and a vibe that may appeal to twenty year olds. Dim lighting virtually everywhere hides furnishings and hallways that need refreshing already (the hotel is about 4 years old) - very low lighting in rooms and halls give this a club atmosphere. Lots of lack of attention to the details - fixtures missing, massive sinks in the bathroom leaving NO counter space, window screens that fall off, no hangers, flimsy fittings in the closets, missing bathrobes, tv remotes that don't work,no or lack of lighting, the "meditation channel" didn't work, bulbs burnout, you have to hunt for the toilet paper, and a front desk that is less than experienced in dealing with customers. In sum it's the details that matter and keep customers coming back. The yoga mat in each room is, granted, a nice touch. Among the more curious suggestions from staff was to leave the dishes in the hallway (after roomservice) - that is dishes only, no covers or trays. Imagine the hygeine and pest implications. I raised my concerns and was moved to a larger updated room - however the issues were the same (except for the lighting, which was indeed better). Their manager is trying very hard but this is far from a boutique hotel - it's well suited to younger folks (20s) aiming for a stylish albeit dark club atmosphere. This is a stylish Holiday Inn - nothing more and not something I would do again.

  • Does not merit a 4 Star Rating

The worst 4 star hotel we stayed in. Looked nice in pictures but when we got to the hotel words cannot describe what we saw. All the walls are white with black scuff marks on them. We opened the door to our room and immediately we saw dust bunnies floating around on the hardwood floors. The tables had dust on them also as well as the baseboards. We checked out the washroom and the toilet had yellow/pink gunk all over the toilet seat like it had not been cleaned, the shower had soap scum all over the floor and walls, the sink table had soap marks on it it had not been wiped down, the washroom floor was dirty. I called the manager to take a look and he did not seem to be concerned about the condition of the room. He suggested that we move to another room. We went to check out the other room and it was the same story. We immediately called our travel agency to cancel our booking and were booked into a true 4 Star hotel. Please, please, please read all the reviews and take the bad ones seriously because they are true. I read them too but thought that they were just picky customers. Not so at all. This hotel is dirty. Management leaves a lot to be desired, too. DO NOT PAY BIG BUCKS TO STAY HERE.

Starting with the great rate that we got on a travel website this hotel was very nice. The floors are pergo so it feels very clean just because of that but the room was clean. The rooms are nice and roomy, bathrooms had a whirlpool tub and a separate shower. In every room is a yoga mat with blocks. There is an umbrella which we made use of one night. Turndown service will leave you serenity stones on the pillow instead of chocolate but that was intersting to look forward to. I couldn't find the ice machines but they delivered ice to my room upon request. The location is great, just a block from the Eaton center, across the street from Massey Hall and the Senator resturant (the oldest in Toronto and a good place to go). We walked from the hotel to the Princess of Wales theater, it is about a 20 min walk but very walkable. I would definitely stay here again.
