03/19/2011Loved everything about my stay at the hardrock! rooms were great, employees were very helpful, housekeeping brought extra towels in no time. had a wonderful stay!

The Hard Rock theme is always fun. The convenience of walking to the venue is a plus. The stores, bars and restaurants are also entertaining. Having said that, everything about the hotel is subpar. The food is mediocre, and the service wasn't focused on making our stay unforgettable. The 11am checkout didn't match the nightime ambiance of the hotel, so we requested a late checkout- 12. Still, a lady full of attitude knocked on our door at 11, while we were still waiting for room service. In general, a good visual place not fit for the experienced traveler who's looking for something more than flashy lights and loud music.

Poor customer service

After a wonderful cruise, we decided to stay overnight in Fort Lauderdale before returning home. What a mistake to pick this hotel!. We had prepaid for a nonsmoking king room. When we arrived early, we were told they had sold out the night prior due to the Super Bowl but "we would be first on the list to get a room." We checked in hourly to see if a room was available and we were told "no"; however, others were getting rooms prior to us. We waited 4 hours before being assigned a nonsmoking room with 2 queen beds. After several phone calls, the host arranged for us to get our king nonsmoking room immediately. The front desk could have cared less if we had to wait all day to get our prepaid room. Several excuses were made. Very poor customer service. Once we finally got to our room, it was an over priced room no better than a cheap hotel. The only thing going for our room was it had an excellent view of the pool. The room was filthy with potato chips on the floor. On a positive note, the resort area and casino were very nice. Just beware of the front desk personnel, they are not professional or helpful at all.
